Interview & Giveaway: Ciye Cho

I live in Australia and work as a freelance graphic designer. I write whenever I can, but most of the time my head is up in the clouds... or down in a fantasy ocean.
   Favorite reads?
My all-time favorite book is "The Little Prince." But right now my current fave is Ricardo Pinto's "The Chosen."

   Inspirations for the book?
The ocean. Coral reefs. Daydreams about colorful merpeople.

Did you know you wanted to be an author when you were little?
Not specifically... but I've always loved dreaming up stories.

   Any Pet Peeves?
People who don't say "Please" and "Thank You."

   Chocolate or Peanut Butter?
Peanut butter! (Preferrably spread on a piece of toast and covered with slices of banana.)

The weirdest thing you've ever done?
I can't think of a weird thing I've done... but I once had a weird cat. Does that count? The animal in question was called Malteaser. He had a docked tail, ears that were bitten off at the tips, and a weird habit of sucking on people's sleeves and t-shirts. He was kinda wonky, but I loved him very much.
Is there a soundtrack to the book/Favorite music?
My favorite musical artist is Bjork. However, during the writing process, I listened to a lot of different things (Lykke Li, film scores, etc.).
Do you need anything to write?
I need peace and quiet.
How long do you write on any average day?
I'm not sure. But I spend almost all my spare time writing.
Give us the number one reason to read your book.
It's time to believe in mermaids and mermen!

Author Info:
My website: http://www.florence-books.com

Seventeen-year-old Florence Waverley is out of her depth. Literally. Kidnapped and taken below the waves to the mer world of Niemela, she is the ultimate gift for merman Prince Kiren: a human familiar tied to his side. But nothing is what it seems amid the beauty and danger of a dark ocean.
Every Niemelan has a role to play, from the mermaids who weave towers out of kelp to the warriors who fight sea monsters. But in trying to survive, Florence will end up in the middle of a war between the mer and the Darkness. A conflict that will push her between two brothers: Kiren, the charmer inexplicably drawn to both her and the monsters; and Rolan, the loner who has been pushing her away since the day they met. But in order to take a stand--and find out where she belongs--Florence will have to risk it all: her life, her heart... and her very soul.
